DESCRIPTION:Wednesday 6 May – 27 May 2026 // 7.15pm – 8.30pm\n$150 // $135 members price (10% off)\nJoin Steven for this LIVESTREAM 4 week course in Pranayama (Breathwork) and Meditation.\nPranayama (Breathe control) is the 4th limb in Pantanjali’s 8 limb path to self realisation. The word Prana refers to ‘energy’ or ‘life force’. It is the essence that keeps us alive as well as the energy in the universe around us. Prana often describes the breath, and by working with the way we breathe and starting to understand it, we begin to affect the quality of the mind in a very direct way. As B. K. S. Iyengar wrote: “The mind controls the body, but the breath controls the mind.”\nIn this 4 week course we will look at some of the fundamental breath rhythms found in the Yoga tradition. We will explore both calming and stimulating breathing techniques, and will ensure we have the time and space to feel it within the mind and body.\nWe will also look at the positive effects of specific breathing practises on heart rate variability (HRV) and discuss CO2 tolerance and its relationship with oxygen and energy availability in the body.\nEach night will begin with a short but precise warm up to prepare the body for sitting. We will then create a comfortable seat using props and explore a few different breath rhythms. After the breathwork practice we will move into a seated meditation where we will have time to notice and absorb the gentle effects of the practice, setting up the conditions for stillness and joy to arise. We will finish each night with a long restful savasana to further release and help to assimilate all that you have learnt.\nA basic level of yoga experience will help you get the most out of this course. If you have any health conditions please get in contact to discuss suitability. We recommend you wear comfortable clothing you can move freely in and bring something like a spare t-shirt, scarf or eye mask to cover your eyes for shavasana.\nNote students on the fortnightly membership receive 10% off.\n
