Alana was first introduced to yoga by her mum at the tender age of 16. The physical practice complemented the many forms of dance and sport she was involved in but also offered some emotional refuge among the stresses of high school and beyond. As she began to further understand the depth of yoga, she became inspired to travel to India where she completed her first teacher training. She has since studied and mentored with Amelia Disspain and Michael Barnes and now has 500 hours of accredited training.
With inspiration from the Ashtanga method, she uses the 8 limbed path as a blueprint for her classes that she endeavours to make safe, challenging and uplifting. Alana strongly believes that yoga can be adapted and tailored to everyone from all walks of life and encourages her students to explore their potential through building a deep connection to body, mind and self.
