Join Teaghan for this 4 week course exploring how to practise yoga in a specialised and supportive way through the different experiences of menstruation and perimenopause.

Yoga spaces can often overlook this information, leaving students wondering how to adapt their practice during different hormonal phases. You will learn practical tips on how to modify postures and what to potentially avoid and why, leaving you with the confidence in knowing how to nurture your body’s changing needs. Together we’ll explore practices that help regulate energy, ease discomfort and create balance. Each week will begin with a short discussion on the cycle phase and its nuanced experiences, supported by a yoga practice designed to meet you there.

Week 1 – Menstruation

Restorative and gentle practices to soothe fatigue, cramps, and tenderness. The womb lining is shedding, energy and hormone levels are at their lowest, so the body can benefit from rest and inward practices. Honouring the body’s natural lower energy state where rest is medicine to help you feel grounded and at ease.

Week 2 – Follicular Phase

Uplifting, steady practices to rebuild energy and strength as clarity and motivation return. Estrogen increases, follicle hormone stimulates the ovaries, and many people feel lighter, clearer and more energised. Harnessing rising energy without pushing into imbalance helping to boost energy and natural vigor.

Week 3 – Ovulation

Vitality and openness with a focus on caring for joints and embracing tenderness and mood changes. The fertile and energetically heightened phase, hormones are high and joints and ligaments are softening. Exploring expansion while staying grounded and balanced.

Week 4 – Luteal Phase

Soothing, calming practices to ease irritability, sleep disturbance and emotional shifts. Progesterone rises and then drops toward menstruation. Supporting inward focus as the body prepares for menstruation.

This course is open to all who wish to explore how yoga can nurture hormonal balance and cyclical wellbeing.
